The word “habit” gets a bad rap. The idea of repeatedly doing the same thing over and over again is often seen as negative. But sometimes routine can be beneficial, especially when it comes to your academics.
GoEnnounce lists 7 habits of highly successful students:
1. Go to class. It might seem obvious, but just showing up can be a big part of student success. As Woody Allen said, “Seventy percent of success in life is showing up.”
2. Ask questions. If you don’t ask, you’re missing out on an opportunity to learn something and clear up confusion. You’re there to learn—so don’t be afraid to go to teachers and other students with questions.
3. Take good notes. Don’t say, “I don’t need to, I’ll remember everything.” Not only are good notes an excellent study reference, but they are also a great way to re-enforce the lesson.
