Did you know that using the Internet can reduce the risk of depression? However, one in four Americans ages 50 to 64 doesn’t know how to use the Internet.
Partnered with Mentor Up, DoSomething.org is launching Grandparents Gone Wild, which provides teens across the country the opportunity to teach technology to people older than they are. By participating, they are eligible to win a $2,000 scholarship.
Here’s how you can get started:
1. Pick an older person to help.
2. Teach the older person how to use a particular technology, including the computer, phone, tablet, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, video chat, and email.
3. Report back on the Grandparents Gone Wired site with a picture of you teaching the person you helped with technology to enter to win the scholarship. The more photos you submit, the more times you’re entered to win.
Grandparents Gone Wired runs now until January 3. Get started today.
