Did you know that 90 percent of 16- to 24-year-olds use text messaging daily to communicate with family and friends? It’s not so surprising, given that you can spot young people texting pretty much everywhere, from bus stops to restaurants to movie theaters (where you could actually get thrown out for texting!).
DoSomething.Org recognizes that texting is a vital communication tool among today’s youth, and so it’s offering young people the opportunity to text with President Obama on an issue that’s near and dear to many hearts: student debt.
Here’s how to do it:
- First, text “PREZ” to 38383.
- After this initial text message, you will be asked to submit a question about student debt that you want the president to answer.
- The president will answer a question each day, from June 24 to June 28. You can check back on the DoSomething site for President Obama’s responses.
It’s a rare opportunity to have your questions and concerns forwarded directly to the President of the United States. Let Barry know what you have on your mind, and get asking today!
