If a teacher or professor catches you in class with your eyes closed, you can tell him or her that you’re just preparing for the next big test, as recent studies at the University of California Santa Barbara have shown that students demonstrated better reading comprehension skills after participating in a two-week meditation program.
Students who participated in the program scored better on tests and also were able to focus better (less mind wandering). In fact, after two weeks of training, one student’s GRE verbal test score improved from 460 to 520.
